If you are interested in traveling within Brazil, you should consider purchasing a Brazil Air Pass. The Air Pass was created to accommodate travelers interested in exploring more of Brasil and is ideal if you're planning on visiting two or more cities.

RULES & RESTRICTIONS

• The Brazilian Air Pass is available only to foreigners and Brazilians residing abroad.
• The price of an Air Pass ranges from US$399.00 up to US$560.00, for a total of 4 to 5 flight coupons. More coupons may be purchased for an additional cost of US$100.00 per segment - not to exceed nine segments.
• Children/Infant discounts:
  • Children: None.
  • Infants: Pay 10% of adult fare.
• Maximun Stay: 21 days, counting from departure of first flight segment.
• Stopovers: Stopovers are limited to the total number of coupons purchased. A stopover occurs when the passenger does not depart an intermediate point within 04 hours.
• Routings:
  • The same sector may not be flown more than once in the same direction.
  • When sold in South America the itinerary must commence in either Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo.
• A security surcharge of US$12.00 will be charged per ticket issued.
• Refunds for Cancellation/No-Show:
  • If unused, total refund less US$30.00.
  • If partially used the Brazil Air Pass is NOT refundable.
• Rebooking/ Rerounting: For voluntary rerouting and rebooking (any time) there is a US$30.00 fee.
• Baggage Allowance: For domestic Air Pass sectors, baggage permitted will be the same as the international allowance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN THE AIR PASS BE USED WITH DIFFERENT AIRLINES?
No. If you purchased the VARIG Brazilian Airlines (VARIG) Air Pass, you must travel within Brazil on VARIG flights. If a TAM Brazilian Airlines (TAM) Air Pass is purchased travel within Brazil must be on TAM.

CAN THE AIR PASS BE OPEN OR ON A STAND BY BASIS?
No. Reservations must be made in advance for the dates and times you are planning to travel. Tickets must be purchased and issued outside Brazil and PTA is not permitted.

CAN AN ITINERARY BE CHANGED?
Change of travel dates is permitted within the validity of the Air Pass. There is a US $30.00 penalty per change. No rerouting is permitted.

IS THE AIR PASS REFUNDABLE?
If unused, the Air Pass is totally refundable, less a US$30.00 to US$50.00 cancellation penalty. If, however, any portion of the Air Pass is used, the Air Pass is non-refundable.

CAN THE PASSENGER NAME BE CHANGED ON AN AIR PASS?
No. Like all airline policies, the Air Pass is non-transferable, and only valid to the person who purchased it initially.

CAN MORE THAN ONE AIR PASS BE PURCHASED BY THE SAME PERSON?
No. Only one air pass can be purchased per international ticket.

DO CHILDREN HAVE DISCOUNTS?
Children between 2 and 11 years of age pay full fare (same as adult) Children between 0 and 2 years of age pay 10% of the adult fare, without a seat reservation.

CAN THE SAME CITY BE VISITED MORE THAN ONCE?
No. The same sector may not be flown more than once in the same direction.

CAN I BUY AN AIR PASS IF I RESIDE IN BRAZIL?
No. The Brazil Air Pass is valid only for foreigners visiting Brazil or for Brazilian citizens residing abroad.

ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS?
Yes. A US$12.00 security fee must be added and local airport taxes are not included.

ARE THERE ANY SERVICE FEES FOR ISSUING AN AIR PASS?
Yes. South Winds Travel charges a US$30.00 fee per Air Pass issued.

CAN AN Air Pass BE PURCHASED THROUGH SOUTH WINDS TRAVEL & TOURS IF THE INTERNATIONAL TICKET HAS BEEN PURCHASED ELSEWHERE?
Yes. Of course you can.

MERCOSUR AIR PASS
The Mercosur Air Pass is valid for a minimum of seven and a maximum of 30 days for a maximum of 8 flight coupons with no more than two stops allowed per country

• The Mercosur Air Pass is valid for a minimum of seven and a maximum of 30 days for a maximum of 8 flight coupons with no more than two stops allowed per country.
• At least two Mercosur countries must be included.
• Rebooking is permitted; however, rerouting is not.
• Tickets based on the Mercosur Pass must be issued/purchased outside South America. Only one pass per passenger, per trip is allowed.
• The Mercosur Air Pass fares are based on mileage therefore all prices are quoted according to flight itinerary. For more information please contact us or any of the participating carriers.
